I am Linda Sarman, Judicial Secretary for the Court. I keep very busy managing the complex and constantly changing calendar of the Court. My other duties involve tracking the Court's budget and keeping the jury commissioner advised of the status of upcoming jury trials.
I am a fourth generation Elko County native. I received my Associate Degree in Office Administration from the University of Nevada - Reno. My husband, Ed and I are involved in a family-owned ranch and raise cattle in Pleasant Valley, Nevada. We have three grown children, two daughters and a son. We also have three granddaughters. I serve as Secretary of the Silver Sage FFA Alumni Association, an organization that supports the Silver Sage FFA Chapter through scholarships and sponsorship of leadership conferences along with providing chaperones, judges and coaches for career development events.
My name is Mercedes Woster and I am the Trial Administrator/ Bailiff. My duties include preserving order and maintaining security in court as well as attending to the jury and/or prospective jurors. I also aid in preparing files for court hearings. I coordinate with the Judicial Secretary and Staff Attorney regarding the court calendar and work load. I strive to accurately maintain records for court ordered financial and restitution requirements, incarceration requirements, community service requirements and random drug sample analysis requirements of defendants. I administer alcohol and drug tests as ordered by the Court. I also actively participate in Teen Court and conduct school tours of the courtroom.
I have been an Elko resident since I was 4 years old. Upon graduating high school, I moved to Las Vegas where I attended UNLV and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. I live in Spring Creek with my husband and four children. My husband and I are small business owners with locations in Elko, Spring Creek, and Winnemucca. I am Treasurer of the Spring Creek Elementary PTA where my children attend school. I am also a board member of the Spring Creek Junior Football League.
